My wife Heather and I settled in Whitefish in 1988 to be close to family in the Flathead. We were attracted to what was then a still a sleepy ski and recreation town with affordable homes on the market. We raised our three children in Whitefish all matriculating through the school district. In my “spare time” I have been a small business owner for the past 25 years running Chimney Solutions a service and installation proprietor in the region. Heather and I have been married for 42 years with grown children on the west coast.
Throughout my life, public service has inspired me.
I served on the Whitefish School Board for 24 years including leadership positions as Chairman of the Board, President of the MT. School Boards Association (MTSBA) and a board member of the Montana High Schools Association (MHSA), overseeing high school activities in the state.
I have served four terms (8 years) in the Montana House. I have:
Served on the Taxation, Local Government, Transportation and Agriculture committees;
Served as Vice Chair for all of my committee assignments and during the interim have served on Local Government and Transportation Interim Committees.
Presently I have been appointed by the governor’s office to serve on:
The Behavioral Health Systems for Future Generations Commission;
The Property Tax Task Force.
